The OSEG Foundation, the charitable arm of the Ottawa REDBLACKS and Ottawa 67s, has a goal to ensure all children and youth in our community have the opportunity to play, learn and develop through sports. Together, with our coaches and players from the Ottawa REDBLACKS and Ottawa 67s, youth that are a part of the OSEG Foundation Youth Advisory Council have the unique opportunity to connect with the organization and various departments to provide insights, help make OSEG more youth-friendly, and allow greater involvement by youth in Ottawa.
The OSEG Foundation Youth Advisory Council (YAC) serves to provide a voice and platform to the youth in Ottawa who can directly impact the opportunities available for their community.Through these direct youth voices, the OSEG Foundation will obtain a deeper understanding of issues and opportunities that will serve to inform and facilitate greater support for youth in the community.
HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE JOINING
What is the Council agenda?
✓ Council members meet regularly and work together to establish a vision and create a plan to achieve their goals for the community;
✓ Members identify and explore ideas and share knowledge on important matters affecting youth and their families;
✓ Members act as advocates for youth in Ottawa, informing the Council of new initiatives and opportunities;
✓ Council members plan, support, and lead events and initiatives that align with OSEG Foundation mandate.
