The OSEG Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC) launched at the beginning of 2023 to provide a voice and platform to youth in Ottawa who can directly impact the opportunities available for their community. Through these direct youth voices, the OSEG Foundation will obtain a deeper understanding of issues and opportunities that will serve to inform and facilitate greater support for youth in the community. The Youth Advisory Council also provides members with the opportunity for professional growth and networking.
The YAC’s first year focused on laying the groundwork, connecting with each other, brainstorming community initiatives, and developing a strategic plan. The strategic plan contains the following three key pillars:
1. Increase personal and professional growth for youth.
2. Increased community engagement through active programming.
3. Increase youth voice across the OSEG Foundation and OSEG.
The Youth Advisory Council is recruiting new members aged 14 to 18 to join the group and continue the impactful work in our community. If you know a youth who would be a great fit or if you are a youth interested in being a leader in your community, this is the right opportunity for you.
